Carboxymethyl Cellulose
Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) has important applications in oil drilling. Here are some of its main uses:

5. Preventing mold growth: CMC-containing mud is rarely affected by mold, therefore there is no need to maintain a high pH or use preservatives.
