What is the dissolution time of Cationic Polyacrylamide?

The dissolution time of Cationic Polyacrylamide(CPAM)mainly depends on its physical form, molecular weight, ionic degree, particle size, and dissolution conditions.Typical industrial dissolution times are as follows:
1.Powder/Granular CPAM(most common export type)
Normal dissolution time:40–90 minutes under gentle stirring
High molecular weight&high ionic:closer to 60–90 minutes
Low molecular weight&low ionic:around 30–40 minutes
Fully dissolved standard:no visible particles, uniform viscous liquid,no agglomerates
2.Emulsion CPAM(liquid type)
Fast dissolution:3–10 minutes
Used in automatic dosing systems where quick preparation is required
3.Main factors affecting dissolution speed
Stirring speed:moderate stirring speeds up dissolution;excessive speed causes chain breakage
Water temperature:warm water(20–40°C)shortens time;>55°C degrades polymer
Particle size:finer powder dissolves faster
Concentration:usually prepared at 0.1%–0.3%for full dissolution
4.Industrial operation reference
For export and on-site use, powder CPAM is generally considered fully dissolved after 60 minutes of stirring.
