Does Polyanionic Cellulose meet food grade standards?
Yes,food-grade Polyanionic Cellulose(PAC)fully meets international and national food grade standards, and is legally permitted for use in food processing.
It is classified and regulated under the food additive code E466(Carboxymethyl Cellulose/Polyanionic Cellulose)in the European Union.
It is approved as GRAS(Generally Recognized as Safe)by the U.S.FDA for use in various food categories.
It complies with JECFA(FAO/WHO)specifications for food additives.
In China, food‑grade PAC meets the requirements of GB 2760 and GB 1886.232‑2016 national food safety standards.
Food‑grade PAC is produced under strict hygienic conditions, with tight limits on heavy metals, microbial content, and impurities. It is non‑toxic, non‑irritating, not absorbed by the human body, and safe for long‑term consumption at recommended usage levels.
Note that oilfield or industrial grade PAC does not meet food grade standards and cannot be used in food.
