Food grade xanthan gum is a stable polysaccharide powder with a long shelf life when properly stored.Its shelf life and performance retention depend mainly on storage conditions,packaging,and moisture protection.
Under sealed,dry,and cool conditions,the typical shelf life of food grade xanthan gum is 24 months from the production date.During this period,it maintains consistent viscosity,particle size,dispersibility,and food-grade safety indicators.
For proper storage:
Keep the product in its original sealed packaging to prevent moisture absorption,caking,or contamination.
Store in a cool,dry,well-ventilated area,away from direct sunlight,high temperature,and humidity.
Avoid contact with strong acids,strong alkalis,or volatile chemicals that may affect quality.
Do not store together with food ingredients with strong odors,as xanthan gum may absorb odors slightly.
Once opened,use the product as soon as possible and reseal tightly.Moisture absorption will cause caking,which may slow down dispersion but generally does not destroy its thickening function if fully dissolved.Properly stored xanthan gum remains stable and effective throughout its shelf life without significant degradation.
