High viscosity Polyanionic Cellulose, often referred to as PAC-HV or PAC-R,is a high‑performance grade of polyanionic cellulose with strong thickening ability, excellent rheological control, and high fluid loss reduction performance. It is produced with higher degree of polymerization(DP)and more uniform substitution structure, resulting in significantly higher solution viscosity than standard or low‑viscosity PAC grades.
Key Characteristics
High thickening efficiency
It greatly increases the viscosity of water‑based systems even at low dosage, providing strong suspension and carrying capacity.
Excellent fluid loss control
Forms a dense, tough filter cake to effectively reduce water loss in drilling fluids and construction materials.
Strong salt&thermal stability
Maintains stable viscosity and performance in high‑salinity, high‑hardness, and medium‑high temperature environments.
Good water retention
Prevents premature water evaporation or absorption, improving workability and strength development.
Main Applications
Oil&gas drilling fluids:Improves mud rheology,suspends cuttings,stabilizes wellbores,especially in low‑solid mud systems.
Construction materials:Used in tile adhesives, wall mortar, grouts, and repair materials to enhance water retention and anti‑sagging performance.
Industrial thickening:Applied in coatings, ceramics, and daily chemicals for rheology adjustment and suspension stabilization.
