How to store Nonionic Polyacrylamide?

Nonionic Polyacrylamide(NPAM)is a hygroscopic linear polymer,so proper storage is critical to maintain its molecular weight, solubility, and flocculation performance.Below are standard storage requirements:
1.Storage Environment
Store in a dry, cool, and ventilated warehouse with temperature controlled between 5–30°C.
Avoid high temperature, direct sunlight, and humidity;prevent moisture absorption and agglomeration.
Keep away from heat sources, open flames, and strong oxidizing agents.
2.Packaging&Sealing
Keep original packaging sealed tightly before and after use to prevent moisture, dust,or contamination.
Once opened, use as soon as possible and reseal immediately to avoid caking.
3.Stacking Requirements
Stack on moisture-proof pallets, not directly on the ground.
Do not stack too high to avoid crushing the lower packages and causing caking.
4.Avoid Contamination
Prevent mixing with acids, alkalis, salts,or other chemicals.
Keep away from strong oxidizers(e.g.,permanganate,persulfate)to avoid chain degradation.
5.Shelf Life
Under proper sealed and dry conditions, the shelf life is 2 years for solid powder/granular NPAM.
Once dissolved into aqueous solution, use within 24–48 hours to avoid viscosity loss and microbial degradation.
6.Handling Notes
Do not store in damp or open-air environments for a long time.
If caking occurs but is not mildewed,it can still be used after crushing and fully dissolving, though dissolution speed may decrease.
